based on an ovulation calendar i should be able to test the 14th (today) but i couldn't wait and tested 2 days ago and it said negative...so could it have just tested to early? is there still a chance that i am pregnant? if i took one today could i already get a different result?If you take a pregnancy test 2 days early can you get a false negative?
It's pointless testing early. Today would be the earliest you could expect a true result.

Its a waste of time testing early...You can't gauge when you got pregnant from ovulation. Semen stays alive for 3-5 days...it could be anywhere in that window. Wait till your period is due, and use first morning urine as it has the highest concentration of HCG
I tried to take a test 3 days before AF was due and it came out BFN. I took another one the day AF was due using FMU and it came out BFP.
