I was pulled over in another state...i have no license and i used my brothers name and ss# and the cops wrote me a ticket and let me go..but now my bro found out and wants me to appear in courtWhat is the consequences for using a false id to a police?
I hope you are held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. We live in an easy system, follow the law and you have no problems. What is the consequences for using a false id to a police?
Your brother found out because the ticket will show up on his driving record, and its his insurance premiums that will go up. He will also receive any correspondence from the courts. This is likely why he wants you to go to court because even if you pay the ticket and the increased premiums, he now has a mark on his record that you are responsible for.
You can be charged with identity theft, fraud, as well as lying to police. If I was you, I would contact an attorney. You are in for a headache as well as a lot more than a ticket.
Be thankful he hasn't turned you in himself.
You probably are not going to like this answer ... but here it is anyway.
Using your brother's name and social when asked for ID was a really bad idea. If your brother wants to clear his name he can give you up, then you will have two charges. Driving without a license and Using an Identity not your own (different states use different names for this offense), the problems get worse, not better, when you lie.
Hopefully your brother will let you off with just paying the fine and any insurance increase. It may be quite a while before you regain his trust. The first thing you should do is offer your brother a very sincere apology.
I would highly suggest paying the ticket so you don't HAVE to appear in court. Whether your brother informs the judge or you do, using someone else's identity could put you in jail (or with an even BIGGER fine at the very least).
I strongly, STRONGLY advise you to just pay the ticket. If it's paid before your court date arrives, you no longer have to appear. Like I said, if it's discovered what you've done, you'll be in for a huge headache.
You also better pray that your brother's insurance doesn't increase or that his license isn't jeopardized. If that happens, I doubt your brother will brush it off.
You are in big trouble for lying to the Police. Also big trouble with your Brother when his car insurance goes up because of your ticket. Having no drivers license is a crime. Your Brother could be in trouble also if he knew you did not have a valid license. Shame on you.
Identity theft is a serious crime and brother or not you should face the consequences of what you have done to fix the transgressions against your brother. You should seek an attorney.
Looks like you better pay your brother's ticket, as well as any insurance increase he suffers because of your fraud.
