If you take a pregnancy test that is faint can it be a false positive?

i took 2 tests at the doctors office and one at home all 3 were faint positive. could that just mean im in an early pregnancy? or could it mean im not?If you take a pregnancy test that is faint can it be a false positive?

A line is a line......no matter how faint it is the only way to get that positive is if there is HCG horomone in your urine the only way to have HCG in your urine is pregnancy, I got 2 very faint positives I was unsure also but I re-tested a few days later and it became darker!!!
you can have a false negative but NEVER a false positive as it needs to detect the hormone which only pregnant ladies have. if its faint it`s detected a small amount. Wait a few days and do another but it sounds as though you are, hope its a congratulations. good luck xx
There are no false positives,only false negatives.My first test had a pink line and a faint pink line.I took one the next morning and it was another 2 pink lines,one lighter than the other.I am currently 9 1/2 weeks pregnant.I couldn't be happier.I wish you well and God bless.
No matter how faint, if there is a line there, then you are PREGNANT. That happened to me. I tested 4 days before my missed period and the line was so faint I wasn't sure if it 'counted' but it definitely did. I took another one about 3 days later and the line was darker.
You're pregnant. Did the doctor not explain?


The hormone doubles every 48hrs. So if you take another test in 2 days, the line will most likely show up darker.

False positives are very rare, they wouldn't happen 3 times for you.
it would be extremly rare, if you got a line whether its faint or not you are 100% pregnant happy days and best of luck to you and baby xx
Faint=positive. Read the instruction booklet that came with it and you will see :) Congrats!
